It is overflowing with style, substance, charm, and polish. Having been Xbox gamers since 2002 when the original big black box hit the UK, taking in all the 360 years, being overly excited for Xbox One and now moving forward with Xbox Series X|S, we could never find a place that would only cover the interesting, exciting stuff from the world of Xbox. CrossCode is a stellar game that mimics an MMO, but solves the repetitive nature of that genre by turning it into a single-player action game, utilizing the genre’s lyricism in a magnificent way. Critic Reviews The main plot revolves around an amnesiac hero who is fighting a conspiracy far greater than herself, and while the story takes a long time to build up, there are enough memorable characters and threads along the way to keep things engaging until those big moments where everything comes together in a dramatic way.

His profession aside from being a videogame journalist is being a Registered Nurse. Besides the beautiful art style, combat is one of the best parts of CrossCode. Bottom line: CrossCode is a cute RPG that hearkens back to classics of old. CrossCode shows that the size of a developer and its overall budget doesn't determine the quality of the game. I wish I could have kept interest in this game, but I’m already taking a break from an MMORPG due to the repetitiveness of it so I really wasn’t looking for another game that played the same.

It doesn’t matter how simple this stuff is, because CrossCode is just a lot of fun and will be engaging throughout. CrossCode Review Score: 8.5 / 10 Way back in 2003, I began to develop a curiosity for MMORPGs, and online gaming specifically.

When you first get underway, CrossCode presents itself as a blisteringly fast top-down action experience with a sublime combat system involving combos, shields, evasions, and parries. The musical score feels epic too, and the presentation as a whole certainly does CrossCode’s ambitions justice. I enjoyed the diverse cast of characters, the meta-narrative (even if it's a bit on the nose), and the combat. CrossCode is one of the most endearing and fun action RPGs I've ever played, though it's not without its frustrations. For the most part, I really enjoyed my time with CrossCode. Fun and cute, it's definitely worth picking up despite a few hiccups and an extreme overabundance of puzzles. A lot of indie games attempt a retro-revival of the 16-bit era, but none do so with the massive scope, smooth modern gamefeel, meticulous. In CrossCode, you'll be fighting a lot of enemies and solving a metric ton of puzzles — we'll talk more about that in a bit.
