One quibble I have here is that Razer Tournament Edition keyboards used to come with sleek carrying cases, to safeguard the peripherals en route to competitions. GamesRadar+ is supported by its audience. It makes sense given the more serious focus of the TE, but it just looks a bit unimpressive. I'm not sure it makes a functional difference, but it's good to see the company embracing a new, more efficient standard. But if you’re looking for a simple keyboard with some enthusiast-grade influences, the Huntsman TE is a pretty interesting proposition. Given its $129.99 MSRP, a lot of shoppers may be happier spending the same money and getting a high-end mechanical keyboard, which will likely have more bells and whistles (such as media keys and USB passthrough ports) and may be better for everyday computing. Maybe the only one. There's no superfluous space used for lights, media keys, or logos. An intense gaming session can sound like a boxing match with your keyboard. The Razer Huntsman TE (Tournament Edition) is a tenkeyless (TKL) mechanical keyboard that Razer produced as an alternative to the Blackwidow. There are many new features about this keyboard that gives you advantages over your opponent’s when gaming. With an even faster key response, replaceable and more durable keys, and slightly more compact design, it delivers on performance and practicality — but loses major points in style along the way. The Huntsman TE is definitely made for a certain kind of player. It’s faster than the original Huntsman, and the switch to PBT keycaps makes it more durable. Will the average person be able to tell the difference, or even appreciate a difference? Optical switches still haven’t made much headway against traditional mechanical keyboards. For those unfamiliar with them, optical key switches trigger inputs using beams of light. Connectivity: Wired (detachable USB-C). I also like the two-level feet at the back, which seem more robust than those found in many other gaming keyboards I’ve used over the years.
